Greetings from the desk of Controller of Examinations!

In a Higher Education Institution, Evaluation is the backbone for certification. Evaluation plays a significant role in the learning cycle which documents expenditure incurred and foregone earnings at the time of admission into the programme of study. The joy of access to the programme of study is augmented upon successful completion of the same. The spin-off benefits of successful completion are based on certification earned.

The Team at Controller of Examinations office serve as a bridge between the components of access, the academic transactions executed, the self-learning developed, hands-on-experience manifested by way of practicals, projects, internship by facilitating the evaluation process for both internal and external assessment in each of these learning instructions prescribed for different levels of study for each course (UG – 24;PG – 15; M.Phil. -13; Ph.D.-12).The unseen back-office work is due to the sustained effort of highly dedicated Teaching and Non-Teaching Faculty.

Care has been taken to prevent dropouts, provide opportunities for the arrear candidates to receive their certification along with the current batch of students. Multiple means of reach besides face-to-face, through representatives, representations, verbal/written queries have been entertained to ensure transparency.

As Life skill education, pre-examination counselling and post declaration of result counselling is also executed in classrooms and at individual demand on one- to-one basis. Question Bank including previous year question papers has been made available through the department Library. Both slow learners and gifted learners are weighed at par for rendering assistance related to the evaluation process so that their access into the Programme of Study lead to successful completion of the Programme of Study enrolled by way of admission process.

At Controller of Examinations office, we believe that the end result, matters more than the process or the beginning. Our good wishes to all who have been certified already and those who are in the process of certification at Queen Mary's College. All the best for their future endeavours!!
